網路有多大？最近，Google官方部落格發表了We knew the web was big...這篇文章，主動提到網路究竟有多大這個問題。
We've known it for a long time: the web is big. The first Google index in 1998 already had 26 million pages, and by 2000 the Google index reached the one billion mark. Over the last eight years, we've seen a lot of big numbers about how much content is really out there. Recently, even our search engineers stopped in awe about just how big the web is these days -- when our systems that process links on the web to find new content hit a milestone: 1 trillion (as in 1,000,000,000,000) unique URLs on the web at once!
根據Google的觀點說法，在1998年，Google己經索引了兩千六百萬頁；到了2000年，網頁的索引數己經達到十億，至於八年後的如今，整個網路世界己經堂堂進入上兆頁的門檻。
事實上，＂網路有多大？＂這個問題的可怕之處，並不在於上億上兆的天文數字，而是它的不斷擴張增長。
另一個網路很大、變化倏忽的佐證則是：Google決定放棄併購Digg了。
