當品牌Pownce被購併為一種功能

Pownce剛推出時，各方都很看好這款Kevin RoseDigg.com的創辦人參與其間，結合即時通Instant messaging (IM)、社交網站Social network service與微網誌Micro-blogging的嶄新網路服務。

不過，在Six Apart宣佈購併Pownce之後，Pownce也以email告知所有會員，即刻停止新會員註冊，並將於2008年12月15日關站終止服務：

We are sad to announce that Pownce is shutting down on December 15, 2008. As of today, Pownce will no longer be accepting new users or new pro accounts.

To help with your transition, we have built an export tool so you can save your content. You can find the export tool at Settings > Export. Please export your content by December 15, 2008, as the site will not be accessible after this date.

Six Apart購併Pownce之後所提供的善後作法如下：

1. 對於所有Pownce付費會員，Six Apart將提供一年份的TypePad帳號。
2. 對於所有Pownce免費會員，Six Apart建議可以跳船到Vox。

就使用者的觀點來看，似乎是Pownce這個網路品牌被購併，並且成為Six Apart旗下服務的其中一種功能。

Six Apart也很理所當然地認為：在加入TypePad或Vox之後，Pownce的用戶依然可以繼續使用結合即時通、社交網站與微網誌的網路服務。

事實上，每一種策略聯盟決斷的付諸執行，其檯面下總有許多不為人知的資源重組、整合在進行。

換言之，一切都將轉換成賭桌上的籌碼，好用來押注。而我們經常觀察到的是：有些資產很容易籌碼化，有些則否。
